What’s Happening?

Greater Scranton Board of Realtors will be converting its current Flexmls database to a new database version, designed to enhance your searching experience across multiple MLSs in Flexmls. This upgrade includes the standardization of fields meeting the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) requirements, making them easily searchable when working with datashares. Rest assured, all this work is happening behind the scenes and the only noticeable change in the new Flexmls database will be the availability of fields when conducting a datashare search.

Conversion Date Milestones

November 27th

– System parallel begins (parallel is the time you will have access to both databases)

December 9th (9am Eastern)

– Read Only for both databases.

Read only means SCR and SC databases are both still accessible, but adding or editing listings is not available. This time allows for final listing updates.

December 11th (9am Eastern)

– Go-Live, working exclusively in new database

What Does it Mean for Me?

Starting in December, you will be able to easily search across MLSs with the majority of fields available. Because of this, listings will only need to be entered into your primary MLS and will be discoverable for all neighboring MLSs that are part of the datashare. You will receive new login information to access the new database two weeks before the go live date. Any third party vendors have been notified of this change.

Important Notes

Parallel updates between SCR (old database) and SC (new database) will begin on Monday, November 27th. During parallel, you will have access to the new database, but listing maintenance will not begin until your go live date. Setting Flexmls into parallel mode means that FBS will update listings within an hour of that listing being added or edited in SCR (old database).

During the parallel period, you will want to recreate all your CMAs, Portal Invites, custom Quick Search Templates and Views in the new database. These will not be transferred over. Contacts, Saved Searches, and Saved Subscriptions will be transferred to the new database.

Note: When accessing multiple Flexmls databases at one time, we recommend using different browsers (ie. Chrome and Firefox).

Below we have included some videos that will walk you through recreating CMAs, Portals and Quick Search Templates.
